Tina Turner - Sings Country (1999)
Genre: Country | MP3 320 kbps | 83,8 MB | 31,52 min.| Covers Label: Tring International Plc - 10 Tracks
Tina Tuner's lone country album, originally issued on the United Artists label in 1973 and entitled The Country of Tina Turner, is actually an unheralded masterpiece. Turner took the best songs of the day and turned them inside out to fit her soul and funk background. Among the true gems here — though nothing on this album is substandard — are her readings of "Stand by Your Man," "Soul Deep," "Good Hearted Woman" by Waylon and Willie, and "We Had It All."

“
The Knitters was a one-off country side project of the famed Los Angeles punk band X featuring the group's vocalist Exene Cervenka, singer/bassist John Doe, and drummer D.J. Bonebrake as well as the Blasters' guitarist Dave Alvin. The Knitters' lone LP, 1985's Poor Little Critter on the Road, was a collection of originals, covers, and acoustic revampings of earlier X material, redone in a variety of country-based styles running from swing to traditional.
Twenty years later, in 2005, the group released their second and ironically-titled album, The Modern Sounds of the Knitters."

Gurf Morlix is a guitarist/producer probably best known for his collaborations with Lucinda Williams, although he also has worked with folks like Robert Earl Keen, Ian McLagan, Ray Wylie Hubbard, and Buddy & Julie Miller. The busy Austin-based musician doesn't get a lot of time to do his solo work, with Diamonds to Dust being just his fourth album; however, it is his strongest overall effort. <AMG>
